Bourbon & birdies
Florida Legacy Print series
When I created Bourbon & Birdies, I wanted to be more than a Florida watercolor artist. I wanted promote ecological conservation through my art and share with others my passion for the natural Florida. I wanted to build a legacy, one painting at a time, of environmental stewardship in the state of Florida. These goals have culminated in the Florida Legacy Print Series. For each watercolor painting that is designated as a part of the Florida Legacy Print Series, I will donate a portion of the proceeds to an environmental organization beneficiary that works to protect and conserve either important Florida ecosystems or species of concern. The prints are signed and numbered in limited batches and are printed on acid-free watercolor paper with archival quality inks. CLICK HERE to purchase a legacy print of your own at my Etsy shop.
Meet our Newest Florida Legacy Print Series Bird & Beneficiary Organization:
Northern bobwhite - Tall timbers
9/2/18 - I am excited to introduce the newest edition to the Florida Legacy Print Series! Ten percent of the purchases from this bobwhite will be donated to Tall Timbers Research Station, a research organization dedicated to learning more about the ecology and wildlife in the fire dependent ecosystems of the Southeastern Coastal Plain.
In addition to (and incorporated in) Tall Timber's research regarding the long leaf pine habitat is their research and monitoring through the Stoddard Bird Lab. Scientists research quail, brown-headed nuthatch, loggerhead shrike, and red-cockaded woodpecker populations on the Tall Timbers property. Their work with birds was one of motivating factors to include Tall Timbers in my Florida Legacy Print Series.
I am so excited to be able to use my art to give back to such an awesome organization! Check out their website at talltimbers.org.
In addition to the Florida Legacy Print Series, Bourbon & Birdies is always looking for ways to promote ecological conservation through art. See what she's been up to here.
